Free Ilkeston Cycle Map!
We are pleased to announce the first ever cycle map of the Ilkeston area in Derbyshire. This free, full colour map gives you all the information you need to know to cycle safely and confidently around Ilkeston. Try out some fabulous traffic-free canal paths!
The Derbyshire Active Travel Challenge is back for 2011. Last year, 463 people from 23 organisations joined in. This year, we'd like to make it bigger and better with 1000 people taking part. Choose Cycling, in partnership with Erewash Borough Council, has been successful in obtaining funding for an exciting Cycling 4 Health initiative in Long Eaton in 2011, linking with West Park Leisure Centre and the NHS Health Referral scheme. More details shortly ...

Derbyshire Connexions, Weleda and Community Concern Erewash are among the winners of 2010's Active Travel Challenge. The winning organisations have won some great prizes, including an energy-saving audit and an Outdoor Gear Goodie Bag!

From Saturday 19th June to 31st August, organisations in Erewash and across Derbyshire will compete to see who can get the most staff to walk, cycle or jog for 10 minutes or more. It's fun, free and you can win prizes!

The Peak District National Park Authority have received funding from Cycling England to create a new route between Matlock and Buxton railway stations. According to the authority's Richard Campen, this could "[...] create both a spectacular cycling route and a realistic alternative to the car, enabling more people to make healthy choices for themselves and for the environment", For more information, please see here.
